The LLANO LONGHORN ROUNDUP includes two judged events for Texas Longhorn cattle and will bring out the best-of-the-best. All animals must be registered with either TLBAA or ITLA.  We welcome owners and breeders from all Longhorn associations to participate. All registered and branded Texas Longhorns will be eligible to enter regardless of which association they are registered with.

Saturday morning and afternoon events include a Non-Haltered Show for females, showcasing top young heifers up through lovely mature cows, and also those awesome big-horned, majestic trophy steers will be the exciting grand finale of this show. The cattle are judged by class groups based on their ages while they roam "loose" in the show ring. After reviewing all entries in the class, the judge then critiques and ranks the animals in the group from top to bottom.

On Friday afternoon, we will also host the Roundup Futurity showcasing some outstanding young heifers and bulls (up to two years old) from top breeders across Texas and surrounding states. Judging for this event involves a panel of highly-experienced judges who look over each animal individually in the show ring. After evaluation, the judges assign a set of points for that animal based on appearance, breed conformation, coloring, horns, and overall quality.  Points are totaled to determine the winners (and the rankings) within each class. These results will be calculated and posted after the completion of the overall competition. Plus, the Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champ heifer and bull will be selected from the group of class champions.

Our Futurity competition also adds a few extra non-qualifying categories: a Prince and Princess class, to showcase some of the outstanding younger bulls and heifers coming up; and a special Senior Cows category for those grand females slightly older than the normal two-year-old mark. (Please see class breaks/ages outlined on the Futurity Entry Form).
